About Us

Meet the Founder

Meet the Founder Amanda Talbot is the founder of Tiny Chefs Kitchen Enrichment & STEM Academy, a hands-on microschool dedicated to helping children discover a love of learning through creativity, exploration, and real-world experiences. With over a decade of experience working with children, Amanda has served as a Head Start teacher, licensed daycare provider, substitute teacher, and foster parent for children with disabilities. She completed vocational training in Early Childhood Education and Culinary Arts at Portland Arts & Technology High School and continued her education at Southern Maine Community College. As the mother of an autistic teenager, Amanda understands that every child learns differently. That experience inspired her to create a supportive, small-group learning environment where children are encouraged to build confidence, develop life skills, and reach their full potential at their own pace. At Tiny Chefs Kitchen, students don’t spend their days sitting behind desks. Instead, they learn through cooking, STEM projects, gardening, educational games, creative activities, and hands-on lessons that make academic subjects meaningful and memorable. Whether students need a different learning environment, enjoy learning by doing, or simply thrive in smaller class settings, Tiny Chefs Kitchen is designed to help every child feel welcomed, supported, and excited to learn.
